Samhain is the final celebration in the Celtic Wheel of the Year. It marks both the closing of the year and the beginning of a new one. A time of both endings and beginnings. Day and night are of equal measure and the veil between worlds is at its thinnest.
Celebrated in the Northern Hemisphere on 31st of October, it is traditional to lay extra places at our tables to welcome in our ancestors and reflect on times past. Candles and fires are lit to guide them to our doors and jack o’-lanterns guard doorways to fend off impostor spirits.
The festival has been adopted over the years and is now widely known as Halloween.
This blank card features an archival print from the painting, Samhain by Debbie Lear. It is printed and assembled in the Hotchi-Witchi studio in Wales, U.K.
The card contains an additional paper leaf for those who enjoy writing lengthy greetings or for writing lists of gratitude or intentions for the coming year.
The card measures 7 x 5 inches, 127 x 180 mm. It fits a standard frame size, making it a great gifting option or altar decoration.
