The legendary Phoenix, when coming to the end of its several hundred year lifespan, constructs a nest from aromatic twigs, such as Myrrh, Sage and Frankincense and sets fire to itself so that it may be reborn from the ashes. Mythology differs throughout cultures but the essence is the same; for newness to enter our lives we have to surrender old, outworn ideas or beliefs to move forward in life.
The phoenix symbolises immortality, life after death, healing and transformation.
This greeting card measures approximately 4 x 6 inches, 105x 148 mm.
The image, The Phoenix Always Rises, by Debbie Lear is printed on archival paper and mounted onto plain white card. The title of the work and the artist's signature is written in pencil under the image, so great as an inexpensive gift as it fits a standard 6 x 4 inch frame - there are plenty to choose from on Etsy.
The card and accompanying white envelope are both embossed to the back with the artist's seal.
There is an additional blank paper leaf to the inside of the card for lengthy greetings or for listing gratitude or intentions.
The card comes in a biodegradable cello sleeve and is posted in a recycled and recyclable cardboard envelope to ensure it arrives is great condition.
