The Pagan festival of Imbolc, celebrated on the 1st through to the 2nd of February (in the northern hemisphere) marks the reawakening of the earth, a promise of new life and hope for the future.  Falling on the midway point, between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox it is the time when the Earth stirs.

In mythology the swan is the bringer of inspiration to poets, musicians and artists and symbolises light, transformation, love, passion and protection.
